Hi, my name is Katharina Bueckert and I am the owner of KB Bookkeeping Solutions.
I am a conscientious, hardworking individual who is passionate about bookkeeping for small businesses. I understand that bookkeeping can be a challenge when you are busy trying to grow your own business, and I would love to lessen the workload of running your small business by supporting you with your day-to-day bookkeeping.
My passion for bookkeeping started in 1992 when my husband and I had just gotten married and he started to run his own business in Belize. As the responsibility of doing his books fell to me, my passion for bookkeeping was born. This passion has since grown and matured into an ever-increasing ability that has now realized as my own small business, KB Bookkeeping Solutions.
I was born and raised on a farm in rural Belize. Growing up on a farm, I learned many hands-on skills, from how to feed animals, collect eggs, and how to milk a cow, to cooking, baking, and cleaning, that taught me much about hard work and perseverance. Furthermore, because I come from a large family, I have grown up taking care of babies and young children. My husband and I now have four lovely children of our own.
My husband and I moved our family to Alberta in 2006, where we started all over. Here, my husband started a small construction business, I continued to do bookkeeping for this business, as well as taking on some of the bookkeeping for my brother-in-law in 2009. In order to expand my knowledge, I took some courses at Chinook College that allowed my experience and ability to work with QuickBooks Desktop to increase greatly. Several years later, QuickBooks Online (QBO) came along, and although it took some adjustment to switch over, and I have since fallen in love with and completely switched over to this new platform.
I did my QBO certifications in 2017, received my Advanced Certification in February 2018, and also renewed and received full Desktop Certification around that same time.
I continue to learn and increase my education whenever a new opportunity for me to do so arises. In the past I have used AccountingCoach.com as a reference to help with my understanding of bookkeeping but have since switched over to Trifold Bookkeeper Advisors. I then joined their full bookkeeping fundamentals course, and received my Certificate on January 7, 2021.
I love numbers, as well new, progressive ideas such as Cloud Accounting and Integrating Apps. My passion and interest in bookkeeping means that I am always looking for an opportunity to further increase my learning and ability, and am always happy to take on new challenges.
Besides bookkeeping, my interests include gardening during the short summers in Alberta and taking care of indoor plants and flowers in the winter, appreciating nature in general, and spending time with my family..
